Puppy Foundation Program

Setting puppies up for a lifetime of calm, confident grooming

Grooming is a lifelong part of your puppy’s care. Starting early helps your puppy learn that grooming is safe, gentle, and nothing to fear. This program is designed for puppies to build confidence slowly through short, positive visits focused on trust before full grooming.

Ideal Age to Start

Puppies can begin after their first vaccines and vet approval, usually around 10–12 weeks old.

Program Goals

To help puppies become comfortable with:

Being handled
Brushing and combing
Nail trims
Bathing
Drying
Clippers and scissors
Ears, feet, face, and sanitary areas

What Makes This Program Different

This is not about rushing your puppy into a perfect haircut.

It is about teaching them that grooming is safe.

Each puppy moves at their own pace. Some may be ready for more quickly, while others may need extra visits before a full groom. That is okay.

Recommended Schedule

Every 3–4 weeks during puppyhood to build consistency and prevent fear, matting, and stress.
